John Hanes served with the 1st Bn 43rd Foot during the Napoleonic Wars.
Removed from the Muster Roll books on 24th December 1814. Paid £6.00 and a further amount in lieu of Beer, roll also states ' Embarked for Chatham'.
Hanes was awarded the Military General Service Medal with bars Ciudad Rodrigo; Banajoz; Salamanca and Vittoria. Medal and bars confirmed on the roll.

Condition - VF ( scratches to obverse & reverse, light edge bruising, with large edge bruise over surname. Naming still perfectly visible to the naked eye)
