Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

Early 19th century, of rectangular form, the hinged cover with central roundel of diverse parquetry inset veneers including palmwood, coromandel, ebony and others, in a burrwood field within parquetry borders, the front, back and sides with conforming veneers, the cover interior similarly decorated; the fitted and velvet lined interior housing a collection of associated mother-of-pearl gaming counters

CONDITION:

The box exterior bears the usual very minor scuffs and knocks overall consistent with age and use, but is essentially in perfectly good order. There is a loss to the veneer at the back right corner of the top. Also two triangular veneers are missing from the right side. The interior is in good order, although the velvet lining is a little worn.  Mother-of-pearl counters are of course associated.
