A DUTCH ROCOCO GILT GESSO MIRROR

retaining the original cartouche-shaped plate etched with festoons of bellflowers and a stylised tree, 

CONDITION:

Various elements of the gesso have fallen away, after which the mirror has been retouched with gold paint -particularly evident along the lower edge which is missing all of its gesso. Other losses (top right) are more recent and have not been retouched.

The glass is original. It has a not unattractive line of vertical corrosion to the backing, from top to bottom.  

Otherwise, perfectly presentable order.
