A LOUIS XVI STYLE MAHOGANY BUREAU PLAT,

the eared rectangular top with an inset leather writing surface over two frieze drawers and opposing simulated drawers, each end with a folio slide, on projecting turned and fluted legs with gilt metal collars and mounts, 

CONDITION:

Minor scuffs, knocks and abrasions overall consistent with age and use. Closed splits in two or three places. Leather top is probably a replacement but is in poor shape anyway. It is worn and there is a tear where a split in the timber lies beneath. One drawer lock is later replaced. The table is probably of 19th century make.
