Le Cong Thanh (born in Danang 1931), graduated from the College of Fine Arts of Hanoi in Vietnam and from the Moscow School of Arts.

Today he is considered to be the dean of Vietnamese sculptors and the artist who has embraced all the conflicts of his culture and the dispute between tradition and modernity.

Thanh was an art professor from 1963 to 1985; his best known work is a 30 meter monument entitled "Victory", made to commemorate the end of the Vietnam War. His work is dominated by the human figure, particularly the female form and her erotic notions.
