A DUTCH SILVER MINIATURE OF A MAN RIDING A SHIRE HORSE
apparently unmarked, probably 18th century, with a suspended silver chain link pulling a plough wheel, 4cm high x 3.5cm long x 0.5cm wide (25.23 grams); together with a Dutch silver miniature windmill, probably by Francois Marcus Simons (1750-1828), the other appears unmarked with pierced decoration and birds perched on the top and another windmill of similar design, (3) (45.84 grams)

Provenance: Part of the collection formed by Baron Michiels van Verduynen (1885-1952), the Dutch ambassador to the Court of St James’(1939-1942). After the collection returned to the family’s residence Huys Clingendael. Thence by descent to the Barons Van Tuyll van Serooskerken.
