dated 1796, worked with stylized flowers, trees, birds, and a house, in a simple molded stained-wood frame, 19.5cm x 19.5cm, and another sampler,  worked with a verse above a register of birds perched in the branches of trees, "Grace Elliott... 1770", 34cm x 20.5cm, in a later ebonized frame. 

The latter sampler is sold with a George III memorial pendant bleak brooch, of elliptical form, dedicated to the memory of Grace Elliott and dated 1788 - "Tis hard to part" (3)

Both samplers in basically good shape overall, rather faded though.

Both frames knocked and scuffed to extremities.
