Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.
18th/19th century, comprising one with serpentine top rail, two wheel-backs, and another; and two similar Thames Valley type elm and beech side chairs,
Largest Example 103cm high
Width 59cm

The item bears the usual minor scuffs and knocks overall consistent with age and use.

The principle chair, with the cabriole legs, has two replaced elements to the toprail, one with a peg holding the left lath.

The left walnut armrest is retipped.

One of the wheelback Windsors has a split leg and glue holding the stretcher in.

The other example has an old iron restoration holding an arm to the hoop back. This restoration has failed.

The fourth Windsor has later screws down through the armrests to the turned supports.

Minor worming in places overall.

Old closed splits in places overall.
