Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.
seven circa 1815, one of the two elbow chairs later made, all with brass strung panel toprails and openwork backsplats of confronting scrollwork, the green velvet seats above reeded sabre front and splayed back legs, Provenance: Lord Valentine Thynne, youngest son of the 6th Marquess of Bath.
Elbow chairs, height 89cm
Width 56cm

The item bears the usual minor scuffs and knocks overall consistent with age and use.

Seven of the eight chairs have restored scrolled finials to the toprails.

Upholstery is dirty in places.

The seven period chairs have a rich and mellow patination. The modern chair is darker and has more of a shine.

Otherwise, perfectly satisfactory order overall.
