Estimate: £600 - £900
Hammer price: £600
Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.
circa 1815, of sarcophagus form, the hinged pyramidal cover with pyramid finial and lobed borders, with panel front and sides, the base on four lobed bun feet with recessed brass castors, the interior bereft, with original drainage hole,
Height 62cm
Width 61cm
Depth 44cm

The item bears the usual minor knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and normal use.

There are chipped losses to the veneers at both front corners of the cover. There are minor losses to veneers at the sides, and replacement veneers to the back, around the hinges, suggesting that the hinges have been refixed after old damage. Certainly all is strong and stable now.

Interior is empty.

Basically good order overall.
