Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.
circa 1825, the inverted breakfront cornice with running spheres, above a frieze with confronting gryphons in low relief, flanked by cluster column pilasters,
Height 99cm
Width 67cm

The item bears the usual minor scuffs and knocks, overall consistent with age and use. A siggnificant section of painted gesso has flaked away from the frize, approx 4"l long. The frame is regilt and repaired overall. Four balls are missing from the cornice. The mirror plate is significanlty corroded. The central area is perhaps useable.
