A CARVED AND WHITE PAINTED WOOD FRAMED WALL MIRROR,

late 19th century, of rectangular form, the ogee moulded outer edge with stylised overlying acanthus leaves, above a fascia and bevelled plate, 117cm high x 107cm wide

Provenance: Heytesbury House, the home of Siegfried Sassoon.

The frame is later repainted white overall, probably not that long ago. It is in perfectly good order. 

The glass is enigmatic. The back has that brick red lining that one sees in completely modern mirrors, but from the front it is in our opinion, pleasingly deteriorated. 

The lot is basically in perfectly satisfactory order.
