A POIGNANT WWII JAPANSE PRISONER OF WAR CASUALTY GROUP TO LANCE - BOMBARDIER A THOMPSON

1939/45 Star; Pacific Star and War Medal. With box of issue addressed to Mrs A Thompson 1 Trimdon Street, Millfield, Sunderland, County Durham.

With original Memorial Scroll, and RA Cap badge. and a number of original photographs. Sadly, condolence slip is missing, but it comes with original Memorial Scroll 

Swing mounted on card for display. 

Arthur Thompson was born in Millfield, Sunderland. He served as a Lance Bombardier in the 242 Bty., 48 Lt. A.A. Regt of the Royal Artillery. he was captured by the Japanese on Batavia, Java. 

He sadly died while still a prisoner of Colitis and is remembered on the Singapore War memorial.
