Provenance: The renowned collector and dealer in early oak,  S.W. Wolsey,

The collection of Sir Maxwell Joseph, the founder of Grand Metropolitan P.L.C.,

Acquired at auction by Anthony Boyden, Esq. for Dewlish House where the catalogue description indicates the bed had been consigned from the collection of Sir Maxwell Joseph.

Literature: Illustrated and discussed in the "Dictionary of English Furniture", vol. At the time of publication the bed was in the possession of S.W. Wolsey and the photograph is credited as such.

The bed was illustrated in Sotheby's auction catalogue when it was consigned as the property of Maxwell Joseph.
