in the manner of Robert Adam, the shallow top with a moulded edge over a band of fluting with inlaid oval satinwood patera at intervals, on turned tapering fluted legs headed by curved panels inlaid with upright oval satinwood fan paterae and ending in "spool" feet.

Provenance: By tradition, Althorp, Northamptonshire, the home of the Earl and Countess Spencer.
