Due to the scale of the painting we have been unable to take it off the wall to examine further but the work appears to be in wonderfully original condition. According to the vendor a small hole lower right occurred when the painting was moved from its previous home on the stairs at Wormington Grange to the dining room where it currently hangs. This has been professionally restored with a patch repair verso (picture of the front of the restored area available upon request). Would benefit from a light clean to remove historic varnish and marks.
