Note: The maestro Stahli is known to have supplied Grossman with other 'Black Forest' carved models, and given the quality of the work here, an attribution to him would not seem unreasonable

Swiss, late 19th century and possibly by Alfred Stahli, naturalistically portrayed standing on a rocky outcrop with foliate adornment, broken fence posts between his legs; inscribed for the retailer J.GROSSMAN INTERLAKEN; atop an oval base, 42cm high x 50cm long 

Surface wear and scratches, some damage to horns, fairly extensive evidence of old worm.
