Condition Report: click here
Estimate: £500 - £800
Hammer price: £500
Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

circa 1775, the hood with caddy top, twin finials, and glazed arched door flanked by pilasters, the trunk with arched door, the Roman and Arabic chapter ring with memento mori engraved dial depicting a church and a grave, beneath a moonphase, inscribed EDWARD CLARK BRUTON above; with twin barrel movement, strike on bell, two weights and a pendulum, 242cm high x 52cm wide

The exterior bears the usual knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and use. Gilt areas have probably been refreshed at some point. There are adaptions at the cheeks and to the movements base panel, suggesting that the movement and face might be associated to the case. The movement appears to be in good order although this is not guaranteed by us as auctioneers and ought to be qualified by a qualified horologist. Weights and pendulum are present. The central sphere is missing from the hood.
