Lot 777

A REGENCY MAHOGANY DRESSING TABLE, ATTRIBUTABLE TO GILLOWS,

Note: This dressing table is virtually identical to the Gillows stamped example, lot 584
Condition Report: click here
Estimate: £3,000 - £5,000
Bidding ended. Lot is unsold.

circa 1815, the rectangular top with reeded three-quarter gallery and reeded edges, above five drawers around the shallow arched kneehole, all with turned knob handles, on knop turned, waisted and reeded legs tapering to brass caps and castors, 83cm high x 115cm wide x 67cm deep

The item bears the usual knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and use. There is a fairly significant amount of water staining to the top. The table has been in a well lit bay window for decades and is sun faded on all sides, particularly the back. This could presumably be easily rectified. The central draw is split to its base lining.
