Both models appear to be in satisfactory order, although the pommel is missing from the head of one horse.
It should be noted though that the polychrome painted decoration on top of the glazes is wearing very thin in places, and has been lost entirely in some areas.
Where it is extant, there might be some later repainting, and in these areas it is impossible to see if there is restoration beneath -for instance to the hats.
