The item bears the usual minor knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and use.

Gilding is worn at extremities.

The glass bottles are replacements and one is broken and stuck together.

The shaped pen depressions have some minor cracking but  not so as to detract from the overall impact of the piece.

It is possible that the feet are later embellishments. The underside is covered in leather which suggests it was possibly in contact with the surface on which the piece stood.
