Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

The coffer bears the usual minor scuffs and knocks overall consistent with age and use.

There are old closed splits in the timber in places overall, none with any movement or apparent instability. However, the marquetry panel to the right is split vertically right through, and the two halves loose.

The joints all seem to be a little loose with slight movement in them overall.

The lid would appear to be original, with no signs on it or on the backboard of any other fixings ever having been utilised. The lid underside has a circa 25cm replacement length of wood.

There are also splits to each of the panels in the cover.

Generally speaking, perfectly satisfactory order.
