Bidding ended. Lot is unsold.

The coffer bears the usual minor knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and use.

Scuffs and surface scratches to top are a little more pronounced but still fairly insignificant.

Very minor traces of old worming in places.

Minor old closed splits in places overall, none with any weakness or movement.

There is a replaced section of wood along the back edge of the lid, at the left hinge.

The carving appears to be contemporary, probably somewhere around 1680/1700, although it must be remembered that this is merely our opinion.

Generally the coffer is in good overall condition.
