The chairs bear the usual minor knocks and scuffs overall consistent with age and use.

The gilding is largely original but it and also the gesso underlayer are worn off and knocked away in many places overall. The gesso is loose and fragile overall. Areas of the beading are also missing and others loose.

Some areas of gilding have been retouched with gold wash paint.

The cream paint is also flaky and worn overall.

The later upholstery is dirty and might need replacing.

Joints and undersides all in good order.
