Number 3 Durngate Street, Dorchester entered the Hardy Family in 1891 when it was acquired by Hardy's sister Mary when sold by Thomas Ensor from the estate of the late T.H. Voss. Upon Mary's death in 1915 it appears to have passed to Thomas, who then gifted it to Katherine, who retained ownership until her death in 1940.
