Harry Watson was born in Sheffield on 1st September 1897. He joined the
Royal Navy on September 1st 1914, a large portion of his service during the
Great War was on HMS Blanche, which was present at Jutland but did not fire her
guns. Watson was awarded the LSGC in 1928. For his service during the Second
World War, he was awarded the British Empire Medal on January 1st 1945.
