Crimea 1854-56 clasps, Alma and Sebastopol. Contemporarily engraved -Pte J Finch 68th Regt.

Victorian LSGC officially impressed - 1120 John Finch 68th Foot.

Condition GF to VF ( contacting and bruising to Crimea, rank and regt are faint)
David Finch was born in Kilbarn, Ballysharman, Donegal, Ireland, in 1818. He attested for the Durhams in 1834.

Finch served for a total of 21 years and 57 days, spending over 11 years abroad. He served ten months in Crimea and was present at Alma and Sebastopol. He looks to have been invalided home due to illness. Finch was never tried by court-martial and was awarded the LSGC upon discharge.
