Thomas Hunter was born in Gateshead in 188; he attested for the Durham Light Infantry on 5th December 1899. He saw active service in South Africa from 15th August 1900 until 15th May 1901, serving with the 2nd Bn. He is also entitled to Cape Colony and South Africa 1901 clasps.
