William Frederick Williams Aynsley was born on 8th January 1886
in Hexham. He was a Coal Miner by occupation. He served during the Second Boer
War and was awarded the Queens South Africa Medal with clasps Cape Colony &
South Africa 1902. At the time of the 1911 census, he was living and working in
Hexham; Aynsley re-enlisted during the Great War and was awarded a Pair. He
stayed in the army post-war and was awarded the Long Service Good Conduct
Medal, having been re-numbered 4435055.
William passed away in 1959.
