There are the inevitable minor dents, marks scratches and shrinkage cracks consistent with age and use. As stated in the catalogue the papers (ie the gores) are later (probably c. 1930 - geographical locations include 'Indian Empire'; 'Italian Libya'; 'French West Africa'; 'Leningrad'.'East Prussia'). The papers on the horizon ring are earlier and replace an earlier - probably original - set which are visible in places. The horizon ring is split (an open split) in two places, one split through 'June' and the other through 'November' (on the horizon ring). A split at the base of one supporting bracket. The stand is a lovely mahogany colour. The globe frame needs restoration.
