A PAIR OF 19TH CENTURY SATINWOOD, PORCELAIN AND ORMOLU MOUNTED CABINETS

circa 1875, the top section glazed, containing two shelves flanked either side by caryatid ormolu mounts, below to central porcelain plaques, one depicting a child the other the profile of a lady, the larger bottom section contains a large central plaque with ormolu surround depicting romantic scenes, directly after painter Jean-Antoine Watteau (1684-1721) below a smaller plaque after the same artist,, the one compartment containing a fitted velvet interior, on a pedestal base terminating in bracket feet

The example with the standing male figure: Largely good. Some cracks and losses to veneer. Ormulu moulding separating in areas. Some veneer at sides warping. Scratches near lock. Velvet interior dirty and peeling in parts. Chips and scratches concentrated at feet. Evidence of splits to side and front door. 

The example with both seated: Largely good. Some splits and losses to veneer, some veneer warping at sides. Splits to shelf in front of door. The door panel is split in the centre. Velvet interior dirty. Ormulu moulding is largely good with some areas coming up slightly.
