Catherine Goodman
Artist, educator and the Founding Artistic Director of the
Royal Drawing School, which she co-established with HRH The Prince of Wales in
2000. Born in 1961, Goodman trained at Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts
and at the Royal Academy Schools. She is represented by Marlborough Fine Art.
Her numerous solo exhibitions include Portraits from Life at the National
Portrait Gallery in 2014, Eve at Hauser & Wirth Somerset, following five
months as Artist in Residence at the gallery, in 2018, and Marlborough Gallery
New York in 2019.
Her paintings are held in private and public collections
including the National Portrait Gallery, the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge and
the Royal Collection Trust. In 1987 she won the Royal Academy Gold Medal, and
First Prize in the BP Portrait Award in 2002. She was appointed a Trustee of
The National Gallery in 2019.
