The desk is in overall good condition with general signs of wear commensurate with its age and use, including small losses, lifting and splits to areas of the veneer, marking to the feet and historic marking and scratches in places. There is a notable split to the top left hand and right hand side of the desk at the front. The later painted motifs show very few signs of wear and the tooled leather top displays scuffing and scratching from use. There are no visible losses to the stringing, the back is not veneered.
