Provenance: Acquired by Victor Cooke in the 1930's or 1940's and by descent to Sir Robin Cooke, Athelhampton House, Dorset.

There are the inevitable minor dents, marks, scratches and shrinkage cracks due to age and use. Marble top in good condition. A 6 cm. strip along the rear edge added. The underside is roughed-out stone, which fits around the cross-braces. There are minor repairs to the pierced frieze. Some of the foliate tips are missing. A small section of carving from the left side is off and in a bag. The walnut surface is dark-stained. In good condition.
