This claret jug exhibits inevitable minor surface wear and slight scratching commensurate with age and use. There is minor wear to the gilding, especially around the neck and head, where the jug will primarily have been handled.

In addition, there is a finger-tip size (approx 1cm) dent above the left breast.

The hallmarks and makers marks are clearly impressed and the underside is also engraved with Leuchars & Son and address.

The left shoulder area is engraved with two armorials.

The cabochon eyes are in good condition with no chipping or cracking apparent.
