Note: Cicely Lushington (1903-1987) was an English ornithologist, born and raised in Ceylon (today's Sri Lanka) who, as Cicely Kershaw (her Maiden name), wrote and illustrated 'Familiar birds of Ceylon'.
She was only 22 when this work was published in 1925. Later, under her married name Lushington, she published Bird life in Ceylon (1949) and illustrated the four volumes of Birds of Ceylon (1949-1961), written by W. W. A. Phillips.
