Transitional, circa 1640, decorated in underglaze blue and polychrome enamels with elegant ladies playing games in a fenced gardens with a mountainous landscape beyond, the base unglazed, 29.5cm high

Provenance: The grandfather of the vendor was Herbert Way. He was a merchant on the Bund in Shanghai in the 1920's and 1930's.

In very good overall condition. There are no obvious signs of damage or restoration, there is some rubbing to the enamelled decoration in places and firing marks as to be expected. the neck has possibly been reduced (please see additional images)
