Frederick
George Teale was born in St Clements London on 6th January 1827. He owned a
house building company, which went bankrupt in 1855.
Likely
to get away from his problems in England; he joined the Land Transport Corps,
which was formed in January 1855. He served as a Lieutenant with the Turkish
Contingent. He survived the war and then began a career as an Engineer in India
with the telegraph department.
In
1872 he was admitted to the Society of Telegraph Engineers in London. On the
3rd March 1873, he was presented to the Prince of Wales by the Duke of Argyll
at St James Palace. His among 239 other men and officers presented to his Royal
Highness, all of whom were connected with India.
He
died while living at the Imperial Hotel in Adelaide, South Australia, in May
1892.
