A CHINESE POTTERY HORSE

Han, the recumbent animal with well-modelled features covered in a red pigment with black and white highlights, in two parts, 42cm high

Provenance: The family of the late John Walden (born 1926), a noted collector and member of the OCS from the early 1950's.

With an Oxford Authentication Certificate (TL Testing Sample C123h31) dated June 2023 stating that "the sample yielded a result consistent with manufacture during the Han Dynasty".

Generally in good condition consistent with the age of the object, losses including the ears and a hole in the back of the head. some deterioration to the extremities. The coloured pigments worn in places but generally presents well and is extremely deocrative.
