sensitively carved with a kylin above scrollwork, the base with a seal now outlined in sealing wax, 5.7cm high x 4.5cm wide, on a hardwood base, the underside with a printed label for "S. Bernstein & Co. Collection, San Francisco"

Acquired by the grandfather of the present owner, and thence by descent.
