Bidding ended. Lot has been sold.

The brooch is in fair condition, there are some losses and the brooch is slightly misshapen. One opal and one garnet are missing, another opal has a large chip, the principal garnet also displays some minor nibbling and a slight chip to the girdle. The pin is present, the hinge is loose. The brooch has a gross weight of c. 3.5g.

The presentation case bears the name of 'J.M.Ward' of '28, Burlington St. Chesterfield' to the silk. The exterior is fairly worn with some losses to the covering, the interior is presentable though the velvet and silk are worn/marked. The case does not close completely, though the catch and hinges appear to be functional.
