The earrings are in good condition, there is some evidence of repair/conversion work and is likely that the earrings were originally either suspended from hook fasteners attached to the base of the leaf, or indeed part of a larger piece of jewellery - it is certain that they have been converted in some way from their original guise. All stones are present and are a mix of older cuts that are mainly flinty white in colour, there is some nibbling evident but no obvious significant chipping - a few stones display surface flaws and there are inclusions evident in several of the stones. The claw work seems to be largely in good order (though it is likely that some claws may benefit from some attention), there is no obvious evidence of splitting or significant wear to the cut-down collet setting of the principal diamond. The earring posts appear to be securely attached and the associated butterfly backs fit well. There is some evidence of soldering to the metal in places, with some oxidisation/discolouration evident. The earrings measure approximately 1.7x1.4cm.
