The brooch is in very good condition, with little evidence of wear or thinning to the setting - there is some marking to the edge of the brooch. All stones are present and the claw work appears to be in good order. There is a mixture of older cut styles and colours within the brooch, however the majority of stones face up white and appear well matched - it is possible that some of the stones maybe later replacements, in particular the rose-cut diamonds in the stamens. There are no obvious chips to the stones, though some examples do display slight nibbling. The pin is present and appears to be securely hinged, the trombone clasp functions well though does display some yellow metal colouring.
