The ring is in good condition, with some surface wear to the metal commensurate with age and use. There is some evidence of historic alteration/repair and it is possible that the piece has been converted into a ring from a seal with the back section of the shank being added and shoulders bent out. The shank appears to be strong and stable, there is no obvious evidence of significant weakness or thinning. There is some marking and small denting to the domed back of the setting, as well as some discolouration where the shoulders join. The rock crystal displays some minor abrasion to the facets but the crest remains crisp, there is no obvious significant chipping and it appears to be securely set in its collet. The foil has degraded slightly, though still reflects as a vivid pink. The ring head measures approximately 1.6x1.6cm and the ring has a gross weight of c. 5.3g.
