The fichu pin is in good condition with no visible damage, losses or repairs. The sapphires remain free from major wear on their facets and the diamonds appear free from any chips or nibbles. The diamonds are quite flinty in colour, the majority are included but are fairly lively, they conservatively measure between 40-50pts in total as setting and cut variation allows. All stones appear to be securely set and there is no evidence of significant splitting/damage to the cut down collets. The trombone clasp remains functional and the pin is securely hinged. The brooch has a gross weight of c. 3.5g.
