The brooch is in good condition, it displays some areas of discolouration on the reverse of the brooch and some minor surface wear/scratching, there is no obvious significant damage or denting. The brooch is made up of two elements: the crest has been soldered with rose coloured solder to pins from the ribbed frame. The crest itself is crisp and presents no obvious damage or wear (save from some discolouration on the reverse and an inventory/cataloguing number ('2205') scratched near the pin) - the two diamonds appear to be securely set. The frame of the brooch displays no significant wear or obvious damage, the ribbed design remains crisp - the sapphires appear to be securely set and free from any significant abrasion. The pin is straight and tightly hinged, the catch fastens securely. Pig tail clasp stamped, but indecipherable.
The presentation case is in good condition, however the underside displays significant loss to the covering whilst the rest of the case displays minor wear/scratching. The crest to the top of the box is slightly worn. The fitted interior is fairly clean, with the velvet being slightly discoloured and the silk displaying some marking due to contact with the brooch face. The hinge and catch function securely and well.
All stones measured in setting so weights are approximate and condition reports are offered as a guide only.
