A similar press-moulded hexagonal teapot is illustrated by William Sargent in "Treasures of Export Ceramics in the Peabody Museum no. 109, p.227. Having late 17th century Dutch mounts, he dates it circa 1685-1700. Another is illustrated in Nicholas de Blégny's "Le Bon Usage du Thé, du Caffe et du Chocolat" 1867 5th figure in Phillip Allen's lecture to the OCS on 9th May 1989, Transactions 1988-1999 p.89, also Patricia Fergusson on p.29.

Some chipping to the inside rim of the cover but otherwise the piece appears to be in overall good order with no obvious signs of damage or restoration
