Provenance: It is believed that this service was sold to the Marquis de Juigné in 1775 immediately prior to his becoming the French Ambassador in Russia. Within five years he had gifted it to Grand Duke Paul, son of Catherine the Great. Most of this service remains today at the Palace of Pavlovsk, including an identical bottle cooler.

This rare survivor appears in very good overall condition with some minor chips to the edge and rubbing to the gilt decoration (please see additional images)
