AN EARLY MEISSEN TEA BOWL

circa 1720, with seven stiff acanthus leaves around the base, gilt with "C"-scrolls and foliage, (laub und bandelwerk) and with gilt interior, 3.5cm diameter

Provenance: Bt. Duke's, 10th April 2018, part lot 281, £150.

Literature: A very similar teabowl and saucer in the Rijksmuseum is illustrated by Ven Blaauem Pl. 14, p. 34 where he attributes the stiff leaves to Jacob Irminger and the decoration to George Funcke.
