There is some surface marking and scratching to the shank and setting, but there are no obvious signs of significant repair or resizing. There does not appear to be any significant wear to the claws and galleries, or thinning to the band. It is likely that the Essex crystal has latterly been mounted as a ring. The Essex crystal does display some surface and slightly deeper scratching in places, there is no obvious chipping/nibbling though the foiling/paintwork has degraded in areas. The shank is rounded and is unmarked yellow metal.
